TELEPHONE CONVEkSATION WITH MR. PHIL CLARK (GPuti) RE HIS MARCH 12, 1985 LETTER CONCERNING MR. KAhGA

Reference:

Letter fron P. R. Clark to H. R. Denton, dated March 12, 1985,

Subject:

Request for Review and Consideration of 1

1 Information Regarding Mr. B. Kanga's (Bechtel) Role in the Alleged Intimidation cf Hr. R. Parks (Bechtel)

As you discussed with W. Russell yesterday, Bill and I called hr. Clark this morning concerning the referenced letter (enclosed).

We informeo Mr. Clark that based upon our review ct the material contained in the letter we did ret 1

find any new information that we were not aware of at the time we made our finoings in NUREG-0680, Supplement No. 5.

That is, we were aware of the conflicting stater.:ents made by Mr. Kanga and Mr. Parks concerning their March 4

17, 1983 meeting. however, on balance a'nd based upcn the actual acts of discrimination that occurred tc lir. Parks, we cculd not discount Mr. Parks' version of what was said at the meeting, j

We discussed the fact that other evidence may be available to GPUN that might shed additional light on the issue. Mr. Clark agreed to look into the matter and get back to either you or Bill (when he is out of the hospital) in approximately one week on what role GPUN might be able tc play in helping resolve the issue.

We informed Mr. Clark that we wculd wait to hear back from him prior to sending him a written response to the referenced letter.
