The purpose of this supplement is to clarify the type of information required to submit in response to Bulletin 87-02, Supplement 1 on the source of fasteners purchased for use in nuclear power plants.
NRC Bulletin No. 87-02, Supplement 2 requtsted:
1.
A list of the suppliers and manufacturers from which safety-related ferrous fasteners 1/4 inch in diameter or greater may have been purchased, within the past 10 years, including addresses.
For those fasteners purchased from fastener suppliers and/or original equipment manufacturers, any available information that identifies the manufacturer or sub-tier supplier of the fasteners also should be provided. Approved Vendor List or Qualified Supplier Lists are the intended sources for this information. Addressees are not required to search purchase order files, contact subcontractors to obtain the information, or submit data on fasteners supplied as part of an original component.

Further, addressees are not required to contact subcontractors to obtain the information or to submit data on fasteners supplied as part of an original component. is a list of vendors who are or have been qualified to supply safety-related fasteners to Grand Gulf Nucleat' Station (GGNS) Unit 1 and prior to May 3, 1982 for GGNS Unit 2.
This list was compiled from a review of the Qualified Suppliers List (QSL) log.
Each of these vendors was qualified to supply all types of ASTM and ASME fasteners, however the most coninon types of fasteners supplied to GGNS Unit 1 are: ASME SA 193, SA 194, SA 307 and ASTM A325 and A490.
l is a list of suppliers that have furnished nonsafety-related fasteners to GGNS Unit 1.
This list was compiled by a review of purchase orders of local suppliers that sell fastener mat-4al. This review covers the two year period that nonsafe.ty-related purchase ders are retained. lists the suppliers from whom safety-related fasteners were purchased af ter May 3,1982 for GGNS Unit 2 stock. This list was derived from a review of Unit 2 procurement documents.
It should be noted that nonsafety-related fasteners for specific applications may also have been purchased from suppliers on this list. provides a list of criginal equipment suppliers from whoai both safety-related and nonsafety-related fasteners may have been procured for GGNS Unit 2.
This list was developed from a review of Bechtel's Evaluated Suppliers List.
Fasteners purchased from these equipment suppliers were for specific applications; for example, to replace a fastener lost or damaged during disassembly and reassembly of a component for installation or maintensnce.
