In response to your letter of Harch 29, 1988, and ir, accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Georgia Power Company (GPC) provided (on April 29, 1988) an initial response to the Notice of Violation associated with Violation 88-09-03.
In your letter of May 26, 1988, you denied GPC's rebuttal of the violation.
On June 24 1988, GPC requested that the response to Violation 88-09-03 be delayed untti a meeting was held between GPC and the NRC, GPC was concerned that there was some confusion relative to the status of the Physical Security Plan that would bear upon Violation 88-09-03.
On July 7,1988, GPC and the NRC met and discussed circumstances associated with the violation.
As a result of that reeeting, a formal response to Violation 88-09-03 was to be submitted to the NRC within 30 days of July 7,1988.
A copy of this response is being provided to NRC Region II for review.
In the enclosure, a transcription of the NRC violation precedes GPC's response.
