SUBJECT:
PROPOSED LICENSE TO EXPORT COMPONENTS TO JAPAN (XCOM0753)
On April 14, 1983 GLperal Electric Companj Nplied fo'r a license to export zirconium tube shells to Japan for testing purposes only.
The applicant has requested expeditious processing of the license application as the tubing is ready for immediate, shipment,and is urgently required by the customer.
The staff has concluded that the proposed export meets the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act, as amended, and would not be inimical to the common defense and Yecurit,y of sthe United States.
In view of the above con:;iderat' ions,' the staff issued the license without the normal ~ 15-day whidng ppriod.
