Dear Mr. MacDonald:
Nuclear Packaging, Inc. is pleased to submit the attached Safety Analysis Report for the NuPac Post Accident Sampling Cask, PAS-2.
This cask is designed as a sample collection and transport cask which will be used in the event of a reactor accident to carry a 50 ml cooling water sanple to an off-site laboratory for analysis.
We request issuance of a Type "B" Certificate of Compliance authorizing use of this cask for the above tasks.
Enclosed is our check for $1,000.00 to cover the appli-cation fee for Category llc under 'O CFR 170.31.
The information embodied in this Sc.fety Analysis Report and amendments thereto is the property of Nuclear Packaging Inc., Tacoma, Washington, and is considered PROPRIETARY DATA.
A notice with respect to this infornation is provided as to this letter and is intended for those parties who may come into possession of this material.
He are aware of your requirements to place this Safety Analysis Report and any amendments thereto in the Public Documents Roon.
This may be done with our pernission, however this permission should not be construed as a waiver of or in any way prejudicial to our lawful proprietary rights to this material.
It is done only to facilitate the issu-ance of a Certificate of Compliance.
Eight copies of the Safety Ar.alysis Report are enclosed for your review.
Your earliest response will be appreciated as this package is a portion of our customers' Post Accident Sampling System which must be fully approved by NRC prior to the operation of their reactor.
