STATEMENT OF

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION OF VICTOR NERSES I, Victor Herses, am a nuclear engineer errployed by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission as the Senior Project Manager for licensing of Seabrook Unit I and 2.
My basic duties are to manage the envircnmental and safety review of the Seabrook Unit I and 2 application for an operating license.
My duties involve assuring compliance with applicable NRC rules and regulations and the provisions of the Atomic Energy Act and National Environmental Policy Act.
In furtherance of these duties, I am responsible for coordinating tre issuance of such documents as Safety Evaluation Reports and Environmental Statements, technical specifications, orders, amendments and licenses.
I have been a Project Manager since 1981 and in particular the Seabrook Project Manager sirre 1983. Prior to my position as Project lianager, I w6s a Reactor Engineer first in the Reactor Safety Branch (1977) in the Division of Operating Reacturs and then in the Mechanical Engineering Branch (1980) in the Division of Engineering. All of these positions were within the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.
I hold a B.S. degree in Physics from the University of Rhode Island and a M.S. degree in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
I have furthered my education beyond the M.S. degree by taking graduate courses in lietallurgy from RPI and ?!assachusetts Institute of Technology.
