OFFICE OF ENFORCEMENT ROTATIONAL ASSIGhMENT On July 2,1988, I con.pleted a 3 ncnth rotaticnal assignnent with the Office of Enforcenent (CE). During my stay with CE, I had the opportunity to help fornulate enforcernent policy, update the Enforcerrent Action Tracking System, and to process individual plant enforcenent action from receipt of regional proposals thru to issuance of notice of violation to the plant licensees.
I found this rotational assigonent to be niost rewarding, productive and educational. Not only did this experience help ne understand the enforcerrent process, it will better enable n.e to resume rty PM duties and responsibilities in that: (1) I have gained an understanding of the practical application of NRC requiren.ents tc operating reactors; (P) I haVc a better understanding ard appreciation of what to look for during plant inspections; and (3) the experience will enhance any interfaces with the OE, and regional inspection staffs.
I would encourage other PPs to get nore directly involved with the enforcen4ent process and reconcend that NPR Panagenent continue with the rotaticnal assigonent of PMs to OE.
