Fastener Testing to Determine Conformance With' Applicable Material Specifications

REFERENCE:

(1) NRC Communications, Charles E. Rossi to All Holders of Operating Licenses or Construction Permits for Nuclear Power Reactors, dated April 22, 1988 (8804180142), and June 10, 1988 (8806090301).

Based on the permanent shutdown of LACBWR and modification of our license to possession-only on A August 1987 and because the subject bulletin (Reference

1) is addressed to "all holders of operating licenses or construction permits for nuclear power reactors", the subject bulletin does not apply to the LACBWR facility.

The LACBWR approved Quality Assurance Description does not utilize the terms safety-related or non-safety related with respect to the facility's SAFSTOR condition.

Although applicability to LACBWR docs not exist, plant personnel will still monitor fastener purchases through our procurement control and receipt inspection processes.
