(803) 345-4297 JUNE 1988 On June 1, 1988, V. C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit 1, was operating at approximately 40 percent power due to secondary water chemistry which was out of specification due to suspected condenser tube leaks. At 1004 hours0.0116 days
0.279 hours
0.00166 weeks
3.82022e-4 months
, the plant tripped during testing of the 'B' reactor trip breaker.. Switch contacts which did not adequately seat during the previous startup were responsible for the trio of the 'A' main breaker and the 'B' bypass breaker. After tne plant trip and daring the subsequent outage, the condenser tube leaks were identified and repaired.

On June 10, at 0518 hours0.006 days
0.144 hours
8.564815e-4 weeks
1.97099e-4 months
the plant was critical.
