Dear Si r,

I would like to add my voice to the opposition to license the Shoreham plant on Long Island without state and local par-ticipation in evacuation plannino.

I am handicapped and I in in a wheelchair. I have no idea what alternative evacuation plans would mean to me and I would venture to say neither do you! Does the Long Island Lighting Company know how to evacuate people in wheelchairs?

How about those who are bedridden? And where are we supposed to go? These que>tions MUST be answered before anyone even thinks of licensinq the Shoreham plant.

If these questicns are not answered and if Shoreham is opened, I see a horrible scenario in which handicapoed people could die i.) their cwn hones! Is that what you warit?

It is the height of irresponsibility and arrogance to li-cense Shoreham without state and local participation in evacu-ation planning. You don' t have the foggiest notion about the consequences of what you are proposing. It is just a ridiculous idea.
