Denham Executive Vice President 5114 Woodall Road Post Office Box 11318 Lynchburg, Virginia 24506-1318 Genticmen-This is to confirm the telephone conversation on March 26, 1988, by Jeff Jacobson of this office with Bill Miluszusky of your staff, concerning the inspection at the Lynchburg, Virginia plant on May 2-E, 1988.
Currently, the entrance meeting has been scheduled for 1:30 pm on Monday, May 2, 1988 with a tentative exit meeting scheduled for 8:30 am on Friday, May 6, 1988.
In addition to reviewing implement? tion of your QA progrLm, the following engineering issues will be discussed:
1.
Environmer. tai qualification testin of current configuration of Peerless motors (i.e., with new motor leads.
2.
Motor pinion &.ey failures reported by South Texas Project.
3.
Evaluation of hydraulic lock issue.

Cracked worm gears as reported in Limitorque letter dated March 18, 1988 I
to the NRC.

5.
The environmental qualification status of early design brown, non-fibrite torque switches used in some SMB-00 actuators.
Also, any currently open findings from previous NRC inspections will be reviewed for closure as appropriate.
