COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION DOCKET N05. 50-445 AND 50-446 6.9 KV/480V TRANSFORMER DOS BAR CLEARANCE SDAR: CP-87-121 (FINAL REPORT)
Gentlemen:
On January 6,1988, we notified you by our report logged TXX-88025 of a reportable deficiency involving the 6.9 KV/480V transformer bus bar clearance.
The purpose of this report is to status the corrective actions to date and to provide a corrective action implementation schedule.
The )reliminary analysis required to demonstrate the transformer qualification has 3een completed by Westinghouse. Westinghouse has indicated that with the present transformer configuration, the transformer would remain functional during a seismic event. However, TV Electric has couervatively elected to implement a minor design modification to clearly establish the desired design safety margin.
We anticipate completion of the modifications by September 1, 1988 for Unit 1 and Unit 2 fuel load for Unit 2.
