A meeting was held at the request of Transnuclear, Inc. (TN) at Rockville, Maryland, on February 17, 1968, concerning the Model No. TN-RAM cask.

Discussion TN showed the NRC staff preliminary drawing of a right circular lead filled cask to ship irradiated hardware. The cask has a gross weight of 108,000 pounds and a 9,500 pound payload. The cask is proved with top and bottom wooden impact limiters.

Other materials of construction are stainless steel.

The cask is 51 inch OD by 17? inches high.

l The NRC staff indicated the strength of the closure flange was significant for this particular design and should be addressed in detail in the application.
