INSPECTION AT GA TECHNOLOGIES, INC.

This refers to a routine safety inspection conducted by Messrs. B. L. Brock and K. M. Prendorgast of this office February 22-26, 1988 of activities authorized by NRC License No. SNM-696 and to the discussion of our findings held with you and members of the staff at the conclus. T of the inspection.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

During this inspection, it was found that certain of your activities appeared to be in violation of NRC requirements. The items and references to the pertinent requirements are listed in Appendix A to this letter. The items ,

have been categorized into severity levels as described in the NRC Enforcement  !

Policy 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C. Your response to this Notice is to be i submitted in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, as stated in Appendix A, Notice of Violation.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
