This letter. is to advise the NRC tha't Centerior. Energy Co: poration, and its operating subsidiaries, The Cleveland Electric Illuminating. Company, and The Toledo Edison Company have implemented an upper management reorganization.. Effective July 1,1988 the following individuals have assumed new positions within the Centerior organization.
Richard A. Miller, President of Centerior Energy Corporation, will join with me in a newly formed Office of Chief Executive of Centerior.
In this way he will begin~ sharing the duties of Centerior Chief Executive with me,' leading to his official designation as Chief Executive Officer in the full. Robert J..Farling, formerly President of The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, has been named President of Centerior Service Company. Lyman C. Phillips, formerly an Executive Vice-President with Toledo Edison, has become President of Cleveland Electric. Murray R. Edelman, formerly Vice-President - Nuclear at'Centerior Service Company, has assumed the position of President of Toledo Edisor.. The Vice-President, Nuclear in each operating-subsidiary will report to that subsidiary's President with continued-direct access to me.
This new management team will continue to be dedicated to the reliable and safe operation of the nuclear units under their supervision. The Centerior organization intends to make the Perry and Davis-Besse plants two of the~best operating units in the country. We strongly support this goal and expect that our future performance will reflect this.
