Enclosed please find a letter from General Electric Company requesting g
an extension of the expiration date on export license No. XSNM-203

from 1 December 1978 to 1 December 1981.
This license originally 7
was issued to General Electric on June 16, 1971 te cover the export i:
of Pu0 -U02 pellets containing 270 kilograms natural uranium and 3 2
kilograms plutonium.
It has been amended on two previous occasions to extend the expiration date through December 1, 1978.
y Because of the potential policy questions involved, we would appreciate receiving the view of the Executive Branch before responding to the request.
A response as soon as possible would be appreciated in view I
of the early expiration date for this license.
General Electric has advised us that two exports have been made against this license to date; the first export was on July 31, 1971, which consisted of 2.758 kilograms of natural uranium and 0.158 kilograms of plutonium, and the second export was made on December 11, 1972 and consisted of 0.024 kilograms plutonium.
