Reference:

Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 and No. 2 BV-1. Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 BV-2 Docket No. 50-412, License No. NPF-73 IE Bulletin 88-03 Gentlemen We have reviewed IE Bulletin 88-03, "Inadequate Latch Engagement in HFA Type Latching Relays Manufactured by General Electric Company" for applicability to Beaver Valley Units 1 and 2.

As a result of our review, no HFA relays were identified as being installed or planned for installation in safety-related systems at our facility.

The bulletin requests a response within 120 days from plants who do not have HFA type latching relays subject to this bulletin.

Accordingly, our actions with respect to the bulletin are complete.

The manpower expenditures for this bulletin was approximately 120 manhours total for the review and report preparation.
