Dear Ms. Schwart:
This is in response to your Novemt 13, 1978 request to Mr. R. W. Froelich for cost data on the Clinton Power deation, Unit Nos. I and 2.
Enclosed is a copy of the Final Environmental Staterrent (FES) for the con-struction of the Clinton Plant.
I believe you may find the infonration in the FES sufficiently complete to answer most of your questions regarding how the NRC considers costs and makes cost estimates in its environmental review.
In particular, T. invite your attention to Section 10.4 " Benefit-Cost Balance" which begins on page'10-7 of the FES and references other sections of the Statement for more detailed information.
3 Since some time would be required to obtain copies of the environmental report and hearing transcript, review these documents and extract infor-I mation that may interest you, I suggest you visit the local public document room which, I understand, is about 22 miles from Champagne, Illinois.
