Braidwood Station Unit 2 Facility Operating Licensing NPF-75 Attachment I NRC Docket No. SC 157

Dear Mr. Murley:

Facility Operating License NPF-75 for Braidwood Unit 2 included in Attachment I, four (4) licensee commitment letters that were required to be completed to the satisfaction of the NRC staff as described in each of those letters. The purpose of this letter is to give you the status of the actions taken for each case. This status is presented as follows:

1.

A December 16, 1987 S. C. Hunsader letter concerns the deferral of certain pre-operation test re-tests. Re-tests CV-50 2RO32; EM-50 2RO38, PS-50 2RO35 and VD-55, 2RO29 have been completed. The remaining re-test EM-52 2RO30 is on schedule and will be completed as indicated in Attachment A to that letter. Our commitment remains in place.

A December 17, 1987 S.C. Hunsader letter concerns deferral of a component demonstration test re-test of the carbon dioxide system. That rotest was completed prior to entering Mode 4, par our commitment.

2.

A November 23, 1987 S.C. Hunsader letter describes the schedule for completion of the Technical Specification surveillance for the 2A diesel generator. This surveillance was completed prior to entering Mode 4 as indicated in that letter.

3.

December 16, 1987 S.C. Hunsader letter concerns fire protection installation status. Attachment A to that letter provided the status of structural steel fire proofing.

Attachment B to that letter provided the status of completion of fired wral. As of March 14, 1988, all fire wrap work and all the structural steel fire proofing (except for the Lower Cable Spreading Room) is completed.

. As previously agreed upon with the NRC staff the completion of the fire proofing in the Lower Cable Spreading Room (LCSR) is scheduled to be done by March 30, 1988.

4.

A December 11, 1987 S.C. Hunsader letter concerns the deferral of the control room air in-leakage test from fuel loading to completion during the Unit 2 outage, prior to entering Mode 4.

This test was completed prior to entering Mode 4 as previously committed to with a air leakage value of 533 cfm obtained from Train A and 113 cfm obtained from Train B.

This is being provided for your information at the request of the NRC staff. Please address any questions concerning this matter to this office.
