The Commission was briefed by representatives of the Electric i
Power Research Institute (EPRI) on the status of industry l
efforts to develop evolutionary and passive nuclear power l
stations.
Presentations by the EPRI representatives were made by the following:

The Commission emphasized the following issues:
Importance for senior operators' input / involvement in the development of the requirements document.
Use of engineering simulators for plant dynamic response assessment.
Quality, safety, conservatism, and human factors consid-eration in total plant design, operation, and construction.

Chairman Zech suggested that SPRI and the Utility Steering 1
i Committee keep the Commissior informed on progress in this program.
