Dear Mr. MacDonald:
f90p Monsanto Research Corporation requests an amendment to NRC Certificate'JO98 allowing shipment of up to 100 curies of Pu-238 neutron source in a Specification 6M container fabricated to 49 CFR 178.104.
The isotope will be contained in double encapsulated stainless steel capsules with construction specifications and leak tests as follows:

j Mr. Charles E. MacDonald 16 October 1978 (2) Prior to shipment, the outer is also smear tested per ANSI N5.10-1968 procedure B2.1, except that the wipe is not moistened with solvent.
If the swipe has less than 10 cts per min, the source is shipped to the customer.
