-of the University to prepare an, Environmental Impact Report (EIR) related to decommissioning and removal of the Etcheverry Hall research reactor. Due to the error on the mailing address we did not receive your letter with the attachments until June 6, 1988. As you state in your letter, the EIR is required per the California Environmental Quality Act. Since this EIR is not required pursuant to the regulations of the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, it would not be proper for this office to comment as to the scope and content that the EIR should encompass. Nevertheless, this office would appreciate receiving copies of the Draft and Final EIRs when they are issued.

We have forwarded a copy of your letter to Mr. AlexanJer Adams, Jr. of the NRC Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. Mr. Adams is the licensing Project Manager for the Berkeley Research Reactor. Mr. Adams may respond to your request by separate correspondence.
