PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY - $25,000 This is to inform the Comission that a Notice of Violation and Proposed y
Imposition of Civil Fenalty in the amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars
($25,000) will be issued on or about March 14, 1988 to Nebraska Public Power District. This action is based on an inadequate search of a contractor's t
vehicle that resulted in the introduction of arrunition to the protected area. The base amount of the civil penalty was reduced by 50% due to the licensee's identification and reporting of the incident.
This action also includes an additior.el Notice of Violation containing a Severity Level III for inadequate design control for which a civil penalty was not proposed.
It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of the enforcement action. The schedule of issuance and notification is:
Mailing of Notice March 14, 1988 Tclephone Notification of Licensee March 14, 1988 The State of hebraska will be notified.
The licensee has thirty days from the date of the Notice in which to respond.
Following NRC evaluation of the response, the civil penalty may be remitted, nitigatea, or imposed by Order.
