Georgia Power Company (GPC) hereby submits the revised ~ Inservice-Inspection Testing (ISI/IST) Program for Plant Hatch Units 1 and 2 for your review and approval.
Our last revision was submitted, by letter i
dated September 11, 1987 mainly to reflect NRC comments on Plant Hatch's ISI Program for the second 10 year interval.
These NRC comments were included in the Safety Evaluation Report (SER) transmitted by letter dated Septerrber 24,-
1986.
This revision (Enclosure 1),
- however, incorporates NRC questions and comments on plant Hatch's IST program received during our meeting with the NRC on October 21-22, 1987.
As you are aware, detailed notes were compileri during this meeting and formally transmitted to GPC with the reference NRC letter dated November 12, t
1987.
The enclosed revision incorporates the questions and comments from this letter.
Except for a minor editvrial change (correcting weld identification numbers in Section 2.1.7),
the ISI portion of the submittal is identical.with the September 11, 1987 submittal.
Georgia Power Company requests that the NRC review arid approve the revised program document for Plant Hatch Units 1 and 2.
In order to
. facilitate an orderly incorporation of this revision of our IST program, GPC requests a time period of nine (9) months after receipt of the SER to have completed the revision of all procedures other than those requiring 3
.validatior, during a maintenance / refueling outage.
Procedures which must be validated during an outage will be completed by the end of the upcoming Unit 1 (1988) and Unit 2 (1989) maintenance / refueling outages, providing of course, that GPC receives an SER prior to the Unit 1 outage, g0C I
