ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE SECURITi PLAN, REVISION 35 This. acknowledges the receipt of your letter dated January 10. 1996, by which 1
you transmitted Revision 35 of your Industrial Security Plan.
This revision included, in part, changes to reflect alternative compensatory measures that could be used if the normal protected area security equipment and systems i
failed.
These changes were previously approved by NRR as Amendments 183 and 172 to the ANO-1 and ANO-2 facility operating licenses, respectively.

We have reviewed the changes in the letter and attachments and find your changes to be consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(p).
Accordingly.
your proposed changes are acceptable for inclusion into the plan.

'During our review of Revision 35 we identified two items that were discussed during a telephone conversation between Messrs. M. Higgins of your staff and D. Schaefer of this office on February 9,1996.
During this telephone conversation Mr. Higgins agreed that the next revision to your security plan would include a more legible Figure 4.
Presently, the labeling of some items.
in this figure is difficult to read.
Additionally, Mr. Higgins agreed to i
clarify paragraph 3.1.4.4(A)(2) of your security plan.
This paragraph specifies. the acceptable compensatory measures for perimeter intrusion detection and assessment system failures.
This paragraph will be expanded in the next revision of your security plan to specify that the referenced
" survey" is completed by the referenced patrols.
j The enclosures to your letters contain Safeguards Information of a type specified in 10 CFR 73.21 and are being withheld from public disclosure.
