Subject:

TS Change and Relief Requests Related to Safety Relief Valve Testing -

Supplement

Reference:

Exelon letter to the NRC, TS Change and Relief Requests Related to Safety Relief Valve Testing, dated February 5, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20036E488)

In accordance with 10 CFR 50.90, Application for amendment of license, construction permit, or early site permit, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon) requested an amendment to the Technical Specifications (TS) Appendix A of the Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-39 and NPF-85 for LGS, Units 1 and 2, respectively (Reference 1). Additionally, Exelon also submitted, in Reference 1, proposed relief requests (RRs) associated with the Inservice Testing (IST) Program in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55a, Codes and standards, paragraph (z)(1). Specifically, the proposed changes would modify the TS surveillance requirements (SRs) for testing of the Safety Relief Valves (SRVs) to retain the frequency and certain testing requirements only in the IST Program. The proposed RRs support extending the SRV testing interval for SRVs. During the technical review of the submittal, the NRC identified that the RR tracking number GVRR-9 in Reference 1 is a duplicate to that in a previously approved RR. The NRC requested that a supplement be issued to provide a revised RR tracking number. This supplement provides the revised RR tracking number.

In Reference 1, the RR with the tracking number to be revised (i.e., GVRR-9) is contained in the cover letter and in Attachment 4, 10 CFR 50.55a Relief Request GVRR-9 Related to Safety Relief Valve (SRV) Testing and Use of ASME OM Code Case OMN-17. With this supplement, the tracking number in the cover letter and Attachment 4 is changed from GVRR-9 to 41-VRR-8. In Reference 1, Attachment 5, 10 CFR 50.55a Relief Request 41-VRR-7 Related to Safety Relief Valve (SRV) Testing, contains reference to the RR tracking number, GVVR-9 discussed in Attachment 4. With this supplement, the referenced tracking number in Attachment 5 is changed from GVRR-9 to 41-VRR-8.

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission TS Change and Relief Requests Related to Safety Relief Valve Testing - Supplement Docket Nos. 50-352 and 50-353 May 27, 2020 Page 2 In Reference 1, the other attachments, the finding of no significant hazards consideration and the environmental consideration remain unchanged with this supplement.

There are no regulatory commitments contained within this submittal.
