1. Letter (D11110), S.S.Scace to J.Grier, dated May 30,1997.

Dear Mr. Grier:

Millstone Station NPDES Permit No. CT0003263 Ouarterly Aauatic Toxicity Monitorine Renort - Aoril 1997 In reference 1, Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) reported Aquatic Toxicity results for DSN 001 A which were performed during May and advised the Department that the chemical analyses supporting such results would be provided upon completion. Consistent with Reference 1, NNECO is submitting the Quarterly Aquatic Toxicity Monitoring Report (ATMR) - April 1997 Chemistry Report (Part 3) of the ATMR for Millstone Station's Discharge Serial Number (DSN) 001A. Both tests conducted had NOAEL>45% and were therefore acceptable with both Mysidopsis bahia and Cyprinodon vareigatus showing no toxicity.

As part of this submittal all information originally submitted for toxicity testing of DSN 001A (Reference #1) (Flow data, Part 1, and Part 2) is included here for additional information.

If there are any questions related to these results, please call Mr. Paul Jacobson, Environmental Services - Nuclear at (860) 447-1791 ext.2335.

Very truly yours, JN NORTHEAST NUCLEAR ENERGY COMPANY }C
