NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT 50-321/97-06 AND 50-366/97-06 AND
Dear Mr. Sumner:
On June 13, 1997, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed an
inspection of the corrective action program at your Hatch Units 1 and 2
reactor facilities.
The enclosed report presents the results of that

inspection.

The . inspection revealed that the corrective action program at the facility is
fundamentally sound.
The procedures' reviewed by the inspectors were detailed-
J
and most of the issues examined by the inspectors were appropriately
dispositioned.
However, several minor deficiencies were identified by the
i
inspectors and are documented in the enclosed report.
Individually. these
1
deficiencies were minor; however, given the relatively limited number of
issues examined, the number of. deficiencies is potentially troubling.
In addition, a violation is cited in the enclosed Notice of Violation
(Notice), and the circumstances surrounding the violation are described in
detail in the enclosed report.
Please note that you are required to respond
to this letter and should follow the instructions specified in the enclosed
Notice when preparing your response.
The NRC will use your response, in part,
to determine whether further enforcement action is necessary to ensure
compliance with regulatory requirements.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a co)y of
this letter, its enclosures. and your response will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
