Dear Mr. Salmon:
Our letter of October 4,1994, transmitted the results of the announced safety
inspection conducted by Dr. Richard K. Struckmeyer of this office on September
12-16, 1994, of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-59 at the J.A.
FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant, Lycoming, New York, and at the J.A.F.
Environmental Laboratory, Fulton, New York.

Subsequent to the transmittal of the referenced letter and report, it was
noted that the headings of two of the tables included in the report were in
error. Also, in Table 3, under the column heading "NRC Historical Average",
the second date was incorrect. The data in the tables were correct as
presented.
Enclosed is a complete reissuance of the inspection letter and report. We
request that you substitute the enclosed copy for the version sent to you
previously.
We apologize for the error and for any inconvenience this may have caused.
As
before, no response to this letter is required.

This letter refers to the announced safety inspection conducted by Dr. Richard
K. Struckmeyer of this office on September 12-16, 1994, of activities
authorized by NRC License No. DPR-59 at the J.A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power
Plant, Lycoming, New York, and at the J. A.F. Environmental Laboratory, Fulton,
New York, and to the discussions of our findings held by Dr. Struckmeyer with
Mr. R. Barrett and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection, involving your Radiological
Environmental Monitoring Program and Meteorological Monitoring Program, are
important to public health and safety and are described in the NRC Region 1
Inspection Report that is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the
inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, effective implementation of the
Radiological Environmental Monitoring Program and Meteorological Monitoring
Program was observed.
No safety concerns or violations of regulatory
requirements were identified.
