Dear Members of the County Commission:

By letter dated August 18, 1994, the Franklin County Commission provided the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) with their comments on the Yankee Nuclear Power Station Decommissioning Plan. The NRC is currently reviewing this Plan and your comments will be addressed during this review.

We are taking this opportunity to assure you and the residents of the county that the site will not be released for unrestricted access until after the spent fuel and all other radioactive materials in excess of unrestricted use levels have been shipped, under NRC regulations, to entities licensed to receive such radioactive materials.

Thank you for your interest in the decommissioning review process for the Yankee Rowe site.
