PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL OF RADIOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING PROGRAM PURSUANT TO COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT NO. 29 83-623
Dear Dr. Gordon:
A routine performance appraisal of your radiological environmental monitoring progra'n was conducted on June 10 11, 1997. A copy of the performance appraisal report is enclosed. '
The appraisal included a review of the 1996 annual report and activities performed pursuant to Cooperative Agreement No. 29 83 623 between the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Commonwealth of Virginia. The results
.of the a)praisal were discussed with members of your staff by Mr. D. W. Jones during tie visit to your office and laboratory in Richmond, VA on June 1011, 1997.
It was determined from the appraisal that the Commonwealth met the provisions of the 1996 contract with one minor exception. The 1996 annual report did.not include tritium analyses from the EPA cross check samples in the annual report.
The overall performance in fulfilling the provisions of the contract with regard to sample collection, sample analysis, and submitting an annual report has been satisfactory. We appreciate your interest and participation in the NRC Environmental Monitoring Contract Program and look forward to your continued cooperation.
