Gentlemen:

On July 27, 1987, we verbally notified your Mr. H. 5. Phillips of a deficiency involving abnormal thrust bearing temperatures on the Turbine Driven Auxiliary feednater Pump.

Our last. report, logged Txx-88042 dated January 19. 1988, provided a schedule for the completion of corrective actions to resolve this deficiency.

Due to continuing delays in supply of material and repair instructions by the vendor, the schedule provided in Txx-88042 will not be met.

The nen schedule date for completion, based upon projected availability of spare parts and finalized repair instructions f rcm the vendor, is April 15, 1988, for all Unit 1 AFW Pumps.

The completion schedule for Unit 2 will be prior to Unit 2 fuel load.

Very truly yours,
