ASSIST TO INSPECTION AT AMER INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC.,
WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (CASE N0. Al-97-012) l l As requested, 01 assisted with the three. day inspection at Amer Industrial l Technologies, Inc., Wilmington, Delaware, from April 9 11, 1997. This inspection was done by NRC staff and contractor personnel, a representative of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), and special agents from our office.
Susan Shankman, Branch Chief, Transportation Safety and Inspection Branch, Spent Fuel Project Office (SFP0), Office of Nuclear Safety and Safeguards, ;
, indicated that the NRC Inspection Report will be sent to DOT for Civil Action '
i and the NRC has already promulgated an Information Notice on the containers in l question. Based on the safety actions already taken, Ms. Shankman evaluated
- this matter as a low priority in comparison with other issues currently under l review by 01. This office reviewed the Inspection Report as requested, and l provided a response. In light of the low priority, 0I is closing this matter and will focus our attention on higher priority issues.
