Docket No. 70-7001 and 70-7002 Facility Staffing Technical Safety Requirement Related to the Site Security Force-Correction of an Inaccurate Statement
Dear Mr. Pierson:
The purpose of this letter is to correct an inaccurate statement which was made in a letter previously provided to NRC. This inaccurate statement was previously discussed with you in our conference call i
of July 2,1997 in which we discussed the application of the TSR hours of work requirements to site security personnel.
In reference 1, USEC provided our understanding of the applicability of the TSR hours of work requirements to the site security personnel. In that letter, USEC stated "These overtime limitations for security personnel are noted in site specific procedures." It was later identified that this statement was inaccurate in that no site specific procedure is available at the Paducah Gaseous DitTusion Plant which addresses the application of overtime to security personnel. A site specific procedure does exist at PORTS which is utilized to administratively control overtime for site personnel to include security forces.
This inaccurate statement originated from a misunderstanding by the letter originator as to how the overtime limitations are controlled at PGDP. USEC recognizes the seriousness of providing incomplete and inaccurate information to the NRC and regrets any inconvenience that may have occurred as a result of this inaccuracy.
