NOTICE OF VIOLATION Detroit Edison Company License No. NPF-33 As a result of the inspection conducted on December 7-11, 1987, and in accordance with 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C - General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions (1987), the following violation was identified:
Technical Specification 6.11.1 requires that procedures for personnel radiation protection shall be prepared consistent with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 20 and shall be approved, maintained, and adhered to for all operations involving personnel radiation exposure.
Fermi Procedure (P0M 12.000.062) requires that items found to have detectable contamination shall be marked or tagged whenever they are stored outside a posted contaminated area.
Contrary to the above, two untagged and unmarked equipment slings with fixed detectable contamination were found by the inspector in the hot tool crib room, an unposted area.
This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement IV).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, you are required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this Notice a written statement or explanation in reply, including for each violation:
(1) corrective action taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective action to be taken to avoid i
further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Consideration may be given to extending your response time for good cause shown.
