SUBJECT:
1987 Annual Report of all Challenges to Safety / Relief Valves for Limerick Generating Station Unit 1 - Report No. 3
Dear Mr. Russell:
This represents the 1987 Annual Report of all challenges to Safety / Relief Valves for Limerick Generating Station, Unit 1, as required by Technical Specification 6.9.1.5.b.
The definition of challenges considered in this report is the automatic opening of main steam system safety / relief valves in response to high reactor pressure.
During 1987 there were no automatic openings of the main steam safety / relief valves in response to high reactor prescure.
On August 28, 1987 the five (5) safety relief valves (S, H,
M, E, K) associated with the Automatic Depressurization System (ADS) tested satisfactorily during required surveillance testing.
A documentation of all challenges to the main steam system safety / relief valves has been submitted as part of the monthly operating report in order to comply with Technical Specification 6.9.1.6.
Should you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact us.
Very truly yours, f7 b W.
