Philadelphia Electric Company In-House Reload l Licensing l

Dear Mr. Butler:

Enclosed, for NRC review and approval, is Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo) methods report PECo-FMS-305, "Methods for Performing BWR Steady-State Reactor Physi s Analyses". In accordance with Section 170.12 of the Commission's regulations, a check for $150.00 is enclosed. This report is part of PECo's program for performing in-house reload licensing analyses, an outline of which was presented to the NRC Staff at a meeting in Bethesda, MD on July 8, 1986. The submittal of this report is several weeks behind our projected nchedule and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Since Peach Bottom Units 2 .ind 3 have undergone extended shutdown, Philadelphia Electric Company has revised its schedulle for completing the remaining methods report and first reload licensing application. The attached figure provides the current schedule. The new schedule projects submittal of th2 remaining methods report (Reload Safety Evaluation) by February 1, 1989, and NRC approval of all methods reports by July,1989 (six toonths later than previcusly projected). PECo's first reload licensing application is planned for Peach Botton Unit 3, Cycle 9 (startup in June of 1990). The reload licensing safety analysis to support this reload is planned to be submitted in November of 1989.
