DOCKET NUMBERS 50-266 AND 50-301 SALP 6 REPORT POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT Thank you for the SALP 6 Board Report transmitted by your-letter of December 23, 1987.
We also appreciated the opportunity to discuss.the report with you at our meeting on January 8, 1988.
The following items are provided to confirm a few minor inaccuracies in the report as we discussed in the meeting.
In Section IV.B.1, the perceived reluctance to commit to QA/QC improvements in the chemistry laboratory was likely occasioned by the remarks of our technical personnel who correctly realized they were unable to commit the Company.
The matter was resolved in subsequent discussions between the inspectors and our plant management.
In Section IV.I.1, the apparent lack of a target completion date from the 1983 inspection was more semantic than real.
Implementa-tion of the programmatic concerns was prompt; however, development of individual item-specific procedures is an ongoing activity dependent upon the items being procured.
Subsequent discussions clarified this issue and led to closure in March 1987 as the report notes.
In Section V.A.1, we would note some minor corrections to the dates of our refueling and maintenance outages.
For Unit 1, these outages were from April 12 - May 18, 1986 and from April 4 - May 30, 1987.
For Unit 2, the outage was September 27 -
November 28, 1986.

.In Section V.E.3, we believe the correct date for the last SALP meeting should be' July 18, 1986.
In V.'E.4, we believe the conference on vital area access control barriers was on August 13, 1986.
