NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-334/93-16 AND 50-412/93-17
This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. L. Rossbach, P. Sena, and S. Greenlee of
-
this office from July 21 to August 23,1993. The inspection included a review of activities
authorized for the Beaver Valley Power Station in Shippingport, Pennsylvania. At the
conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with Mr. D. Spoerry and other
members of your staff.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. The inspection consisted
of document reviews, interviews, and observation of activities important to public health and
safety. The purpose of the inspection was to determine whether activities authorized by the
license were conducted safely and in accordance with NRC requirements.

Two non-cited violations were identified. Your staffidentified that a Unit I hydrogen
analyzer train was inoperable. Also, the manner in which you posted NRC Form 3 did not
allow the form to be directly seen by individuals passing by. These violations are not being
,
cited because of their minor safety significance and your corrective actions.
