TROJAN-REQUEST FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE The attached report by Physicians for Social Responsibility " Evaluation of Design Hazards of Airborne Ash and PyrocSastic Flow for the Trojan Power Plant Site" was handed to Tom McKenna (NRC) by this group at emnrwar:;er;ty planning public meeting. Qn the basis of this report - which is at odds with NRC's evaluation - this group seeks 1) changes in emergency planning and 2) shutdown of Trojan. The group is currently deeking court action (State of Oregon) for a Trojan shutdown. This document was 51sc sent".to the Oregon Department of Energy by Physicians for Social Responsibility (Portland Chapter) on January 10, 1981 requesting their consnents on the report (Copy to NRC).

DE/GSB is requested to review this report as part of the on-going review effort under TAC #41023 to see if any information presented alters in any significant way our original and present conclusions of site suitability of Trojan from a volcanic hazards viewpoint.
