It has ceen our policy to keep you informed of matters wnich are imocr: ant to continuec cooceration or which otherwise may be of particular interes to ycu. We believe this exchange of information has been beneficial to both you and tne Ccmmission. This letter is in keeping with that colicy.

A major consiceration growing out of the Three Mile Island Incident, was he neec for realignment of tne NRC Office of Inspection anc Enforcement (IE) organizational structure. Rec:mmendations were included in .1UREG-0660, "NRC Action Plan Develoced as a Result' of the TMI-E Accident. ' The new structure, addressed in the TMI-2 action clan, is aimed at better management of :he pre-ventive inscection program, quicker and more efficient rescense to emergencies, and closer worxing relationships witn :he states and licensee management.

Reorgani:ation of the NRC Region IV office will become effective Feoruary 27, 1981. The encicsure snows tha new organizational structure for Region IV.

The cnar identifies supervisory and other key :ersonnel wno will be cognizant of licensed activities, state orograms and c:ner functions. There will be no resicent inspec:Or reassignments; however, in several cases, sucervision rescensible for certain resicen: ins:ector offices nave been enangec.
