A major consideration growing cut of the Three Mile Islanc Incicent, was :ne need for realignment of the NRC Crfice of Ins:ecticn anc Enforcement (IE) organi:stional structure.
Rec:mmencations were incluced in NUREG-0660, "NRC Action clan Deveicced as a Resul: of the U4I-2 Accident."
The new structure, addressed in tne D41-2 action plan, is aimed at better management of ne ore-ventive inscection pregram, quicker and more efficient rescense to emergencies, and closer working relationships with :he states and licensee management.
Reorganization of :ne NRC Region IV office will become effec;ive ecruary 27, r
1981.
