Subject:
Supplemental Information on the FROSSTEY-2 Code Uncertainty Gentlemen:
In April,1996, Maine Yankee submitted a Small Break Loss Of Coolant Accident (SBLOCA) analysis as a replacement to the existing SBLOCA licensing analysis, Reference (b). Within that Ijf submittal, we included a description of the FROSSTEY-2 code and its usage as relevant to the
/)
proposed SBLOCA transient analysis. Subsequent USNRC questions, References (c) and (d), and Maine Yankee responses, Reference (e), address more detailed issues relevant to FROSSTEY-2.
A follow up telephone conversation between the USNRC, Maine Yankee, Yankee Atomic, and O) the USNRC consultant (Pacific Northwest Laboratories) was held on May 13,1997 to discuss additional questions relating to the FROSSTEY-2 code uncertainties. At that time, Maine Yankee agreed that the response to those questions would be documented.
The attached response provides that documentation. This response is considered proprietary to the Maine Yankee vendor performing the work. Therefore, contained as Attachment 1 to this
