7-November 9,1978 NOTE T0:

D. Eiseribut Acting Assistant Director for Systems and Projects,DDR FROM:

G. Lainas, Chief, Plant Systems Branch, D0R

SUBJECT:

GENERAL ELECTRIC PENETRATIONS Enclosed is a draft GE letter related to testing of the penetrations -

adequacy of repair.

We have reviewed this draft and offered comments to GE irciuding addressing the final letter to you since it is directed to operating plants.

GE tested a leaking-unrepaired penetration showing that epoxy would swell and seal any leaking and concluded that a repaired penetration should not act differently.

We expect to conclude after receipt of the final letter, that the repairs are adequate and GE has adequately justified them.
