On September 19-20, 1978, representatives of the NRC Staff and Combustion Engineering (C-E) met in Windsor, Connecticut. The meeting was requested i by C-E to present their schedule and the intended scope of their effort
, for responding to NRC requests for additional information on CENPD-145-P and CENPD-153-P, and to assure that no misunderstandings exist (reference 5).
C-E stated in epening remarks that the material to be presented is con-sidered proprietary. C-E agreed to provide NRC with a few copies of the slides used in the presentation for information only. (I have, in my files, two copies of the slide package.) The first technical session included detailed discussions of the Pin Peaking Uncertainty Analysis that will be submitted as revised chapter 4 - CENPD-153, a presentation of preliminary results, the planned work on Pin Peaking Uncartainties with Plutonium, and a discussion of other work planned to upgrade CENPD-145 and CENPD 153. Subsequent discussions covered, in great detail, statisti-cal procedures for comparing measurements with calculations and for deter-mining uncertainties. C-E agreed to expand the data base used in their proposed studies and to keep NRC informed of their progress.

MEETING
SUMMARY
NOV 6 1978 C-E will provide the requested information on CENPD-145 in the second quarter of 1979 and on CENPD-153 in the fourth quarter of 1979. A list of meeting attendees is attached.
