Dear Dr. Jackson:

We need you to take appropriate action to stop Louisiana Energy Services (LES) from constructing and operating a uranium enrichment facility between the low income and African American communities of Forest Grove and Center Springs, Louisiana.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Licensing Board just recently ruled that:

(1) LES has not demonstrated any genuine need for the facility; (2) the consortium is not financially qualified to construct and operate the proposed plant; and j

(3) LES failed to set aside sufficient funds to dispose of the estimated 100,000 tons of toxic radioactive waste.

We want environmental justice! Uphold and support the decisions of the NRC's Licensing Board and refuse to license the LES uranium enrichment facility. Your help with this matter is critical to breaking America's shameful pattern of locating polluting facilities in our low-income neighborhoods and communities of color.

I would appreciate the favor of a reply.

Sincerely, Brad Stam 9706170249 970416
