Commonwealth Edison NRC Docket No. 50-10 Mr.

D. L. Ziemann: November 8, 1978 IEEE-279 The motor control center vendor has informed us the MCCs have passed their seismic test and delivery is expected in January 1979.

During the final review of the electrical penetra-tions prior to shipment, a minor problem was found concerning the back support plate.

The factory has been directed to repair the plate.

Delivery of the penetration is now expected in December.

It is expected that this delay will not have a serious impact on the construction schedule.

The vendor prints on the post accident monitoring equipment have been returned.

F_ ire Protection The piping portion of the fire protection systems has been resolved and the vendor is expected to be on site in early December.

Some questions remain to be resolved on the electrical portion of the system.

We are working closely with the vendor to resolve all remaining questions.

Chcmical cleaning All 42 contract specifications have been awarded.

99% of the structural steel work is complete.

99% of the concrete work will be complete by December 1, 1978.

50% of the blockwork is complete.

10% of the piping is complete.

Piping and mechanical installation work in the sphere continues.

Engineering emphasis is on assisting the mechanical contractor with procurement.
