SUMMARY
OF OCTOBER 31, 1978 MEETING ON SITE EXCAVATION MAPPING AND INSPECTION On October 31, 1978, we met with representatives of Mississippi Power
& Light Company's (the applicant's) architect-engineer and construction contractor, Bechtel Power Corporation, in Bethesda, Maryland to discuss site excavation mapping and inspection for the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.
A list of attendees is enclosed.
We discussed the site excavation mapping already performed as well as that which remains to be done. We also discussed the future excavation schedule, plans for mapping the excavation, and the scheduling of a routine inspection of the excavation.
Bechtel indicat d that the only major excavation to be done is that for the Unit 2 circs ating water pump house which is scheduled for January 1979. At our r' uest, Bechtel agreed to advise us approximately two weeks in advanca..f when the excavation will be completed so we can inspect it.
Bechtel also agreed to provide us with a couple of complex' section diagrams across the power block excavation in ordcr to demon-strate correlation across the site.
