l Gentlemen:

1 Entergy Operations, Inc.'s letter W3F1-96-0226 dated December 31,1996, gave notification that the proposed schedule for the Waterford 31997 annual exercise is the week of November 5,1997. The letter stated that an exercise objectives meeting would be scheduled and notification would be provided as to the date, time and location of the meeting when such information was finalized.

An exercise objectives meeting has been scheduled for June 26,1997, at 3:00 p.m.

g at the St. John the Baptist Parish Emergency Operations Center. This meeting is intended to facilitate discussion of the 1997 exercise objectives prior to submittal to the NRC and FEMA. Representatives of the State of Louisiana, St. Charles and St. John the Baptist Parishes, and Entergy Operations, Inc. are planning to attend. It is desirable to have the appropriate NRC and FEMA representatives also in 7

attendance.
