3 MR. CHILK: We have two affirmations. Let me just 4 take them in the order in which they appear.

5 The first one is78-536. The subject is Eurial of 6 Small Quantities of Radionuclides, publication of proposed 7 amendment, and it is to obtain your decision on the proposed 8 amendments to require NRC approval prior to the burial of small' i

i 9 quantities of radionuclides.

10 All of you have approved this, subject to change in II the recommendations. And each of you --

13 MR. CHILK: The second item dea,ls with the approval, 14 under section 145(b) of ; the Atomic Energy Act, for the employ-15 ment of J. J. Cummings as director of the office of Inspection 16 and Audit for NRC, Q-access authorization.

17 The staff recommends that you determine, pursuant to 18 the Atomic Energy Act, that Mr. Cummings' employment and per-I9 mitting-him access to restricted data and NSI information is 20 consistent with the national interest and, based on that deter-21 mination, you grant him a Q authorization prior to completion 22 of his FBI. investigation.
